Konja Terracotta Jar

The Konja jar, with its ribbed pattern encircling its body, embodies one of the most characteristic surface finishes of the pottery tradition. This ribbed form is hand-shaped while the clay is still damp; each groove bears the mark of the craftsman's hand, which is why no two jars from the same series are exactly alike.

At 80 cm tall, the Konja jar is large enough to be the focal point of a space on its own — designed for villa entrances, hotel lobbies and large garden arrangements. It is produced from natural İzmir clay using a molding technique; this means both durability against outdoor conditions and a natural patina that develops over time.

When left empty, it's a sculptural decorative object; when filled with pampas grass or a dried flower arrangement, it adds a warm, organic texture to the space. Whether it's a doorway, a living room corner, or a garden entrance — the Konja jar has a character that speaks to everything around it.
