Our story

Welcome to Deniz Pottery!

We are proud to introduce you to Deniz Pottery, a family business that has trained master potters for eight generations.

Our family has a rich pottery heritage dating back to the 18th century. Originally, our family surname was Desticioğlu, meaning "son of a potter." However, our great-great-grandfather decided to change our surname to Deniz because of his deep love for the sea.

Today, this name represents both our family history and our creative spirit.

A Deep-Rooted Legacy

Today, we continue this legacy as a family. Our father, Bilal Deniz, the master potter of our workshop, is a potter who is also a bearer of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The craftsman you see at the wheel in our photos is him.

Continuing to honor the legacy of our ancestors, we produce exquisite handmade pottery that blends traditional techniques with contemporary designs.

Our commitment to quality, artistry, and innovation ensures that every piece we produce is not just a product, but also a reflection of our family's enduring passion for pottery.

Our Production Area and Materials

Deniz Pottery is situated on a 4-acre site dedicated to the art of pottery.

While our main focus is red clay, our inventory includes various pottery items made using 7–8 different types of clay.

We also have a rich history, including traditional pieces such as antique jars and pitchers from the 19th and 20th centuries.
